Once I tried to explain something about pregnancy control to Lin, it was difficult because I wanted to talk about a specific situation, and I didn’t find the specific word. In another situation you can reformulate the phrase in order to express the same but with different words. So for these kind of conversational situation you must know the vocabulary if you want to be understood.  I don’t think it was humorous instead of that it was to frustrating, because It is something do in daily work in Colombia and in that time my attempt was unsuccessful.

The Lottery by Shirley Jackson

·         How does Jackson use the mention of “stones” in the first few paragraphs to set a subtly ominous tone?

Of course the author made a subtly mention but full of cruelty. Bobby Martin and his friends don’t seem like commons children, they seem like angels of the hell. They knew what will happen in the “lottery” with those “smoothest” stones; however they were gathering the stones making jokes and laughing at the same time. I think the author tried to gives us a specific context of a rare and gloomy environment of that town.

He suggests that everybody prefer to take the popular way, because it can give you the trust to be support by others.

I’m disagreeing because I think that everyone has to take decisions based on his or her knowledge and experience, otherwise it will show you like someone insecure.  

Issues of obedience and authority

When we were creating the presentation we thought that  lin can show better the point of be totally obedient, because she is from china and they have a more strict education. Also, I prepared the opposite situation because I like to take more risk in life; I think, if you want to reach amazing goals you have to lost your fear and keep going. 

After this issue, I reinforced my idea of authority. In the early part of your life you have to be really fortunate of have good parents, because you are 100 % dependent   of what your parents decided. But when you grow up, you can take your own decision and you have to because in a different way you will be living all the time behind of the shadow of your parents, and the world could lose a great person

I am form Colombia , to answer the fist question i have to say that in my country its necessary to have a  some changes at the constitution  becouse there with need stronger law about some items , more efficient police , and olse we need better judges, like for example for crime of stealing in many cases when the cops arrested a person doing that is released in a few days , but if you put the same colombian  in north america he o she never even think in to make tha theft becouse he or she knows that here can be in jail for a long time . So a think colombia people is obedient but there we dont have a good system
